Our teachers and staff are guided by Montessori-based curriculum & materials in our Primary classes, and use a more traditional curriculum and principles in our Elementary classes.
We hope to help your child unlock their individual potential and inspire them not only to learn, but to thrive.
All of our classrooms consist of mixed aging of students to provide opportunities for leadership and a sense of community. Our teachers develop age-appropriate activities and lesson plans that introduce and strengthen academic and social skills.
In addition to the ‘basics’, we offer students a range of gross motor skills and creative opportunities including weekly art, music, and cooking classes and on-going activity-specific workshops. We strive to include enrichment activities that extend our students knowledge and understanding of the world outside the classroom. Each year, our students will take numerous field trips and participate in community service projects. This is all a very important part of the Montessori Curriculum that helps the child understand his responsibility to fellow mankind.
Great Oaks understands the importance of family involvement in their child's education. Our parents are strongly encouraged to participate in various school activities and to attend all parent-teacher conferences. We offer a number of opportunities throughout the school year such as pot-luck picnics and field trips to help you connect with other families and better understand and support your child’s development.
